Amarkantak Achanakmar Biosphere Reserve

The Sal Valley Resort, situated at Achanakmar Amarkantak Biosphere Reserve, just 20 kms from the holy city of Amarkantak is the perfect place to experience the glory of nature and to have an incredible experience of the tribal way life. The Achanakmar Wildlife Sanctuary is just 7 kms away from the resort. It is also home of elusive and majestic animal “Tiger”, although they very few in numbers (16) but each tiger is very important to keep balance our ecosystem and if your lucky, you can sight one in the terrains behind the bamboos.

As the name suggests this property is nestled in the village kheochi surrounded by lush green Sal forests away from the chaotic and clustered cities. It is a place meant to relax and unwind and to connect with nature. Sal Valley Resort offers 02 AC and 05 Non AC double bedded comfortable rooms built in village style with all modern amenities. There is also a one 6 bedded air-cooled dormitory for families. The restaurant serves delicious Indian food cooked in homely manner that scintillates your taste buds. There is also a good collection of books on various topics and a small picture library on the flora and fauna of the region.

Activities:

Other than the excursions to the Wildlife sanctuary with our in house naturalist and visit to the town of Amarkantak, you can also enjoy trekking and exploring the nearby jungles and tribal villages. You can have your picnic lunch by the waterfall and can also explore the local “Baiga” village on foot. Sal Valley Resort is also committed for the conservation and protection of the forests and the animals and one of our directors, Mr. Anurag Shukla is actively involved with the leading agencies for the last 18 years for this cause.

How to reach:

The resort is situated at Village Keonchi and the nearest railway station is Pendra Road (25 kms). We arrange for pick up and drop. The nearest airport is Raipur (225 kms). Bilaspur is the major rail head just 95 kms and good conveyance can be arranged from either Raipur or Bilaspur.

A new beginning ....

Well, its been a long time since I decided to start this blog. It actually took more time than setting up the agency itself ! But now, as i have finally started doing it, its really good.

Hmm... if you would be wondering that what this blog is gonna be all about then let me clear your apprehensions. I just want to create awareness about this wonderful state of mine that we all know by the name of Chhattisgarh and I want the world to see and experience the various things that this place has to offer but, in a manner which is also acceptable and beneficial for the people of this place. So, that basically sums up the entire idea of setting up my agency and inturn this blog. From, here i would just try to keep you guys abreast with the activities that are going on the in State and also in our agency, which by the way is called Ice Cubes Services.

I belong to this place and it is my passion to constantly keep on discovering the numerous facets that this place has to offer. And now through this venture i want the world to see it and see it in a responsible way. This is not just a commercial venture, instead it is something close to my heart and is being done to provide this State the due credit and due identity that it deserves in the national and international scenario.
